This Evidence Based Program offers a Variety of Hands on Skills Training Opportunities for Persons Experiencing Mental Health Problems. The trades industry is constantly seeking qualified workers. The Community Approach to Skills Development Program is designed to assist participants in obtaining skills in areas such as:
- Carpentry
- Small Engine Repair and Maintenance
- Welding
- Food Safe Handling
- Metal Working
- Safety Training
- Recreation and Leisure
- Life Management Skills
Referrals to the program can be made at any time and application forms can be picked up at the Canadian Mental Health Association, Alberta South Region office.
Classes are held Monday through Friday at Lethbridge College.Two sixteen week semesters are held each year, with fall semester commencing in September and the winter semester beginning in January.
